July 2017 Squarespace Product Updates
Every week as a Squarespace Circle Member (sign-up if you regularly build client websites) we get the latest product updates sent to our email. We realized that even though this community is growing, there are a lot of other Squarespace users that don’t get these updates, so the Brad Good team wanted to compile the most important changes every month in a easy to read blog post.
If you are wondering about all of the new updates Squarespace released in July, read more below!
Week: June 26 to July 2.
New template variants
Squarespace added 16 new variants to the template store. Read more about them in their blog post, and see the full selection on their Templates page.
Testing: Callback support for the Commerce Advanced plan
If anyone is upgrading from a trial plan to the Commerce Advanced plan, they can now schedule a call with a Customer Care advisor who specializes in Commerce. This is a pilot feature, so details and functionality may change as we develop it.
Week: July 3 to July 9.
Third-party domains now disconnect from deleted sites
If an expired site is removed, all third-party domains mapped to it will automatically disconnect. Previously, domains would stay mapped to delete sites, and getting this fixed was tedious. Since you couldn’t log in to disconnect them yourself because the site no longer existed, you had to contact Customer Care to remove them for you.
Sort customers and orders in the Commerce app
Squarespace released a new version of the Commerce app for iOS and Android that includes sorting options for orders and customers. You and your online store clients can view orders by date and customers alphabetically or by last order date.
The Commerce app is a great tool for clients who sell products online and use our Commerce platform. Merchants find it useful for scanning shipping labels, fulfilling orders, and managing orders from anywhere. Learn more and download the app here.
Week: July 10 to July 16.
Expanded Account Dashboard views
The expanded Account Dashboard views Squarespace announced last week are now live. Click the ... icon to open a pop-up with details about the website or domain.
The information in each pop-up depends on your permissions, the type of subscription, and the status of the website. Squarespace hopes these improvements help you and your clients manage your website projects.
Testing email fields at signup
Squarespace is conducting a test where they’re asking some new customers to enter their email address twice to create an account. The goal of this test is to see if the extra confirmation reduces typos and login confusion.
Week: July 17 to July 23.
