Generate More Leads For Your Business

A lot of Squarespace users are businesses or freelancers who need to generate leads in order to grow and sustain.  A huge pitfall that Squarespace users make is by positioning their website as a brochure of their products and services. This is the wrong way to think about it. Your website should be a marketing tool that is generating leads.

If your website isn't generating leads, read on below to see some reasons that you may be struggling to hit that number:

1. Your Website Doesn't Have A Clear CTA (Call To Action)

A call to action is a button or graphic that moves visitors toward making a further commitment to your brand, which is usually a landing page or conversion page. Some common examples are, Free trials, downloads, email subscription, tours, donations, etc.

A CTA is one of the quickest ways to move visitors towards a conversion. Your CTA should be clear, eye-catching, and prominent. 

Tip: Don’t hide your CTA button at the bottom of the page with a small font, Make sure you highlight it (above the fold).

2. Your Website Isn’t Built Like A Funnel.

A major way to structure your website by not just being a “brochure website” is by arranging your content so that it acts as conversion funnel. Your users should be led to a call to action or landing page that facilitates the buying journey. 

Your job is to direct your visitors in the right direction with a structured flow. This allows you to gather data on the exact pages where they are abandoning the process.

3. Your Company Doesn't Have That Human Touch.

One major way to turn off your users is when your company information is too minimal, hidden, or just too corporate. You don't have to be too personal, but even by having a clear about us page that tells your brand story and having clear contact information is key.

Users want to do business with brands that they can trust and connect with. Showing the human side behind your company is a great way to establish trust and sets you apart from your competition who don't offer the personal side. 

4. Your Website Is Missing A Blog.

The power of blogs are highly underestimated. Blog’s have been and still are one of the best ways to improve your ranking on Google. You can boost your organic leads by offering valuable content on your company blog. Not only that, but the traffic generated from blogs are of people who are actually interested in your products.

Blogs also provide you with frequently updated content that you can share across all channels, including your social media.

5. You Aren’t Offering Value.

At the end of the day, companies exist to make money, so naturally, most of your website is geared towards that. But, you have to give a little to get a little. 

A great way to get people to use your product is by sending them a free sample or trial. Most customers aren't ready to buy because they aren't familiar with your product. By offering them a free trial or sample, you get them to use your product for free and then can get them in as a paying customer after.
